The Beginning

At the beginning of this year I decided it was time to make some serious changes regarding my health and lifestyle. It really began as a Biggest Loser weight loss competition my work was having. I signed up and joined in and thought "Maybe this is what I need to motivate myself in order to lose some weight and get back in shape". Well that was all good and great and I did not as well as I had hoped but lost some weight, gained some weight. Let's face it, once I made my money back that I paid in with I pretty much said okay I'm done, good enough. I did some workout programs (Country Heat and 21 Day Fix) and stayed steady.

Cue in trip to Las Vegas at the end of May 2017. This is when it all went down hill, fast! I went to Vegas and ate what I wanted, drank probably way too much and since then the scale has been going the wrong way.

I've always been interested in health and nutrition. Having been an athlete growing up (ice hockey for too many years) I could always eat what I wanted and not worry about gaining weight. When I went to college that all changed in what seems like over night and ever since I've been battling losing weight and staying in shape. It only got worse after I got married. When I was going through my divorce I seemed to have lost weight no problems.

This brings me to now and why I'm starting my blog From Field to Field. I have slowly been doing research and toying with going from being a carnivore (meat eater) to making changes in my life and transitioning to a plant based diet (yes, more veggies and things that come from the earth!).

I invite you to follow along with me on this journey I am embarking on and see where it takes me and what I discover, not only about health and fitness, but myself, life and all the craziness that will ensue. I hope to post recipes, alternatives, and things that make you go hmmm.
